Reminder: Today is the last day for our giveaway

Last night, we made a mistake and prematurely selected a winner for our latest contest. See, we usually run these things until Sunday night, selecting a winner via random drawing the following day and putting up a post that night. For those of you that regularly read us, you probably saw the post and thought nothing of it. Well, in reality, we made a mistake.

You see, the contest is still open now. When we set up the rules for these things, they're final, so we're obligated to keep the contest open for its full length, as we should. So, for those of you who want to win this game, get on over to the original contest post here and leave a comment. The contest closes tonight.

We apologize to the mixup and thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Thanks.

Fanswag: SimCity Creator goes to ... [update]

Update: Wow, we can be pretty boneheaded sometimes. We prematurely ended the contest and chose a winner, thinking it ended on Sunday night, as per our usual routine. This latest contest, however, wasn't supposed to end until the evening of Tuesday, October 28th. We apologize for the mistake and will be leaving the contest open, selecting the winner at random again, after it has officially concluded. Sorry to everyone involved, we'll do our best to avoid this mistake in the future. Please ignore all of that at the bottom.

Our latest giveaway has concluded, meaning it's high time we selected our winner. Via random drawing, the individual selected to get our copy of SimCity Creator is:
  • Peter S, who digs on the tornadoes
Congrats to our winner and better luck next time to all of you. Keep your eyes on Wii Fanboy. We'll be starting up another giveaway soon.

Fanswag: Mega Man 9 goes to ...

We've come to the conclusion of our latest giveaway, perhaps our greatest giveaway. Why our greatest? Well, even though we've hooked up people with plenty of copies of No More Heroes, Mega Man 9 is a shining beacon of hope that the future could be filled with more of these kinds of games. More retro revivals plz, amirite?

Well, enough of that. On to choosing our winner! It is:
  • oddfellow, who likes the first game's boxart
Congratulations, oddfellow. We'd like to thank you all for stopping by our little corner of the internet and we wish the rest of you better luck in the future!

Virtually Free: Mega Man 9

What is this? Could we be doing what you think we're doing? Oh yeah, baby, we totally are. We're giving one lucky Wii Fanboy reader a free copy of Capcom's retro-revival, Mega Man 9 ($10). It's too good of a game to keep to ourselves, so we reached deep down into the Wii Fanboy coffers (it's just a coffee can under our bed, but you get the idea) and sprung for enough points to gift the game out. How do you enter for your chance at the game?

To enter, just leave a comment here (with a valid e-mail address!) and tell us what your favorite Mega Man boxart is (hit up the gallery below if you missed this). There's a catch, though. You must be a current and legal resident of the United States with an American Wii (sorry, Canadians, we have to leave you out of this one; blame the gifting system and not us!) and 18 years of age or older. You may enter once per day between now and Sunday, September 28th at 11:59pm ET. The contest comes to a close that night and we'll select a winner via random drawing the next day. Questions? Check out the official rules.
